For high mountain thrills perhaps nothing can surpass
the magic of heli-skiing. Under a deep blue sky. You are carried
by helicopter to a snow-drapped peak. And after that there is nothing
except steadily distancing whirr of rotor blades, the sky and the
snow. It is a thrilling experience as you rapidly zoom down the
slopes. The icy winds slap your face and the swiftly slithering
hiss of skis reminds you that you are racing away on your own stream.
The sport is immediately available in the area bound by the Hanuman
Tibba, Rohtand Pass, Deo Tibba and Chanderkhani Pass - near the
resort town on Manali. A major feature is the compactness of the
heli-skiing area. A sortie of ten minutes can carry the skiers
to the top of a 14,000 foot high slope.
Manali :- Manali with its unspoilt scenic grandeur
is extremely popular with the tourists, for a lavish display of
natural scenery. It is one of the principal show places of the
Kullu region. To its North, South and West are an ostentation of
pinnacles and ridges which, in fine weather, stand out in bold
relief against skyline. At the lower elevation and in every direction
there are vivid green patches of grassland and evergreen valleys
ascending in irregular formation present probably the best view
in the country.
In winter is a fairy-tale town holding out an irresistible invitation

are attracted to this Himalayan resort.
Its smooth-curved ridges and escarpments promise unmatched exhilaration
both to expert skiers as well as beginners. Those on a maiden adventure
